ITF-14 (Interleaved 2 of 5) is specifically designed for outer packaging — shipping cartons, cases and pallets. It can be printed directly on corrugated cardboard surfaces where EAN-13 would not scan reliably due to surface texture.
All barcodes are generated locally in your browser. Your data never leaves your device, ensuring complete privacy and security. You can generate unlimited barcodes, always free, with no expiry.
An ITF-14 barcode is a 14-digit barcode based on the Interleaved 2 of 5 (I2of5) symbology, used to encode GTIN-14 numbers on outer packaging, shipping cartons and pallets. It consists of 14 digits: 13 digits entered by you, plus a 14th checksum digit calculated automatically.
ITF-14 barcodes are part of the global GS1 system and are designed for warehouse and supply chain scanning. The first digit is typically an indicator digit (0–8) that identifies the packaging level, followed by a standard GS1 company prefix and product reference.
ITF-14 uses a thick bearer bar frame around the barcode which helps ensure reliable scanning on rough corrugated surfaces. Our generator supports custom colors, adjustable height and text display so you can match your logistics requirements perfectly.
ITF-14 is the go-to barcode for outer packaging and logistics. Here are the most common places to use it:
Print ITF-14 barcodes on corrugated shipping cartons containing multiple retail units for warehouse scanning.
Use ITF-14 on pallets and bulk cases for efficient scanning during receiving and dispatch in distribution centers.
Apply ITF-14 barcodes for tracking goods through the supply chain from manufacturer to retailer warehouse.
Use ITF-14 on master cartons coming off production lines for inventory management and shipment tracking.
Retailers use ITF-14 in stockrooms and warehouses to receive and count case-level inventory efficiently.

Use ITF-14 for shipping cartons, cases and pallets. Use EAN-13 for individual retail products sold at checkout. Use EAN-8 for small retail products where EAN-13 is too large.
Always enter exactly 13 digits. The 14th checksum digit is calculated and added automatically by the generator.
ITF-14 must be printed at a minimum width of 142mm for reliable scanning on cartons. Do not scale below this size.
Always use dark bars on a light background. Low contrast barcodes may fail to scan in warehouse environments.
For official supply chain use, apply for a GTIN-14 number from your country's GS1 organization to ensure uniqueness.
Always scan your barcode with a warehouse scanner before bulk printing on cartons to ensure it reads correctly.
Keep your PNG or SVG file safe. You can reuse it anytime without needing to regenerate the barcode.
